Cassandra Sue Luce

September 15, 1972June 1, 2019

Cassandra Sue Luce (Adams) was born to Richard Adams and Sue (Rankins) on September 15,1972 in Merced, CA. Cassie grew up in Porterville, CA where she attended school. Cassie was active in cheer leading throughout high school. She was a cheerleader, in the color guard and sang in the choir for Monache High School in Porterville, where she graduated in 1991. Cassie has been an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints throughout her life. She truly enjoyed serving the young women in a number of capacities throughout the years. Cassie was sealed to her Husband Shawn Luce in the Oakland, CA temple on May 10, 2003. They were married civilly on June 23, 2001. Cassie was preceded in death by her father Richard Adams and her Niece Trinity Adams. Cassandra is the mother of 5 beautiful children. Breanna Holmes age 27, Chandler Luce age 24, Payton Haws age 19, Rieli Luce age 15, and Conrad Luce age 12. Cassie is also the grandmother of Isabella Holmes, Madelyn Holmes, and an unnamed baby Haws who will be here in November. Cassie is survived by her Sister Cari Adams, Twin Sister Katie Davis, Brother Barrett Adams, and Sister Kristy Carey as well as her Mother Sue Carey and step father Steve Carey. Cassandra was very patriotic and loved the American flag and all that it stands for. She loved serving in almost any capacity and looks forward to serving in the next life. Cassie had gone back to school to earn her Bachelors degree in healthcare administration. This was cut short when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Cassie fought a 5 year battle with breast cancer that had a number of ups and downs. She faced everyday with courage and dignity during her fight with breast cancer. Cassie always tried to use her experience to help others that were battling the disease as well. When the time came to make tough decisions about treatment, Cassie chose to live life to the fullest and allow cancer to run its course. Her decision was to live a quality life even if it meant the quantity was less than she wanted. It pained her to know that she was not going to be here for the many important activities of her kids and grand kids that are still to come. Cassie's faith sustained her during this trial and ultimately she returned to her Heavenly Father on June 1, 2019 with much of her family by her side. Cassie's life is a legacy of love and service. She will be missed by all who knew her.

There will be a Memorial service held for Cassandra on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 1080 E. Yosemite Ave, Merced, Ca..

WALCHER MARILYN

Condolences from the Walcher/Lindquist family. We have known the Adams family since we lived down the street from them on Matthew in Porterville in the 1980's. I just happened to speak to Cassie in the Fresno Temple about 5 years ago. I don't know how in the world she recognized me. She has become a beautiful woman inside and out. Prayers for her family and friends left behind.

She is my sweet niece! So many memories and so hard to choose only one! My memory is of Cassie and sister Katie sitting in the floor when they were toddlers watching cartoons! They both had their little thumbs stuck right in their mouths! A special memory when she and her family would join us at Fraiser Mill campground! One time my mom and I took my children and the Adams siblings to Fraiser Mill for a short campout! Every day, they would all go out and pick wild raspberries! I finally ran out of recipes to use them in! Another memory of Cassie pushing herself to go do things with her family when she would rather be resting! Lastly, preparing her children for her departure! I know her children have the best memories of her! Now she is having a joyful reunion with those on the other side! Your Aunt Shirley
