Catherine Kazue Lindberg, our dearest Sister and Auntie Cathy is resting peacefully with the Lord. She was born in San Francisco, and lived most of her life around Merced. She had a relentless desire and love for serving the Lord, never ceasing to serve until a few days before her passing.
Cathy was an ICU nurse in her early career, and went on to women’s Prison Ministry, Church Choir, tutoring adults in the literacy program, feeding the homeless, Woman’s Bible Ministry and transporting those in need, to name a few. She shared her love of thrifting, sewing, gardening, succulents, cooking and crafts with all her friends and family.
Cathy was the first born of her the siblings, and is preceded in death by her parents, Mitsuru and Ellen Taniguchi, and her late husband, Steven Lindberg. She is survived by her siblings: Amy and Bob Hughes of Merced, Margaret and Ray Matsuoka of Coarsegold, Wayne and Sharon Taniguchi of Woodland, and Brian Taniguchi of Merced; her step-son Travis Lindberg of Southern California, 8 nieces and nephews, and 3 great nieces and 1 great nephew. Cathy was a soft spoken, humble, gentle, giving, and loving Child of Christ, and is truly missed by her family and friends.
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my inheritance forever”. Psalm 73:26
