Charlotte was born on March 27, 1943 in Santa Paula, California to Abram and Lenora Gonzales, and was the sixth of eight children. She grew up in Hilmar, California where she attended Hilmar Elementary and Hilmar High School. Charlotte was a loving wife to her husband Tony Regalo. They resided in Merced, California, where together they raised a beautiful family of four children, son Joe and Sandy Regalo, daughter Terri and Gino Bertuccio, son Anthony and Janice Regalo, and daughter Tammy and Bobby White. Their family has grown to include 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Charlotte was a faithful person and a devout Catholic. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Merced. She was an amazing example to her family of how to love and live a faithful life.
She worked in the cafeteria for Weaver School District where she made several friends and retired after 25 years of service.
Charlotte is also survived by her sisters Lupe Souza and Susan Figley, and her brother Les Gonzales.
She was preceded in death by her late husband Oscar Regalo, parents Abram and Lenora Gonzales, and sisters Emily Fernandez, Tina Rodriguez, Arlene Figley, and Florence Torres.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to St. John's Festa, PO Box 126, Snelling, California 95369.
A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 459 W. 21st Street, Merced. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Church, 671 E. Yosemite Avenue, Merced, with graveside services following at Calvary Cemetery, 260 W. Childs Avenue, Merced, and a reception at Buhach Pentecost Hall, 2889 N. Buhach Road, Atwater, California.
