With deep love and heavy hearts, the family of Cheryl Diana Arceo announces her passing on June 9, 2026, at the age of 67. Cheryl left this world peacefully, surrounded by the people who meant the most to her, carrying with her a lifetime of memories, laughter, and the quiet strength that defined her.
Born on October 27, 1958, Cheryl grew up in Merced, California, where she attended elementary and high school and formed friendships that lasted decades. She had a warm, approachable spirit that made people feel welcome, and she collected friends the way she collected treasures from thrift stores and yard sales—with joy, curiosity, and a genuine appreciation for the stories behind them.
Cheryl’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Jasmine and Racine, who were the center of her world. She cherished every moment spent with them and with her beloved grandchildren—Nathan, Logan, Eli, and Amillia—who brought light, laughter, and purpose to her days. Whether she was hunting for bargains, sharing a meal, or simply sitting together talking about life, Cheryl made ordinary moments feel special.
She is survived by her brother Roy, her sisters Annette and Celeste, her daughters Jasmine and Racine, and her grandchildren who will carry her memory forward with love. Cheryl is preceded in death by her brother Stanley, her sister Julie, and her parents Louis and Irene, with whom she is now reunited.
Cheryl will be remembered for her kindness, her humor, her love of simple pleasures, and the way she always found beauty in unexpected places. Her presence was a comfort, her laughter a gift, and her love a steady anchor for those fortunate enough to know her.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on—in the stories shared, the traditions continued, and the love she poured into every person she held dear.
May she rest in peace, surrounded by the same warmth she gave so freely in life.

Gathering Joy
She walked through life with open hands, Gathering treasures wherever she’d stand— A thrift‑store trinket, a yard‑sale find, Little pieces of joy she left behind.
But her greatest treasures were never bought; They were moments, memories, love she brought. Time with her daughters, laughter shared, Grandbabies climbing into her chair.
Nathan, Logan, Eli, Amillia— Each one a spark that lit her days, Each hug a prayer, each smile a praise, Each tiny hand a place she stayed.
She loved the simple, honest things— Warm afternoons, familiar streets, Old friends from Merced schoolyard days, Stories told in gentle ways.
She knew loss, yet carried light, Holding close the ones who’d gone— Stanley, Julie, Louis, Irene— Their love still walking with her on.
And now she rests, her journey done, But her spirit lingers, soft and bright— In every memory, every laugh, Every thrift‑store aisle of light.
For love like hers does not depart; It settles deep in every heart. A quiet warmth, a steady flame— Forever glowing with her name.
