

Throughout her life, Cynthia gave of herself in ways both practical and generous, meeting others with steady care and a devoted spirit that was evident in the many roles she embraced. She will be remembered with deep respect and lasting gratitude by all who knew and loved her.
Cynthia’s working life reflected both skill and service. She was a graphic artist and a Teacher of Computer Applications, office technology, and procedures at merced college. She also served as a sign language interpreter, and brought her artistry into her work as a tattoo & piercing artist—each path reflecting a willingness to learn, to contribute, and to support others with patience and heart.
She also gave her time to the wider community, including involvement with the CEO Club at Merced College and service as a baseball umpire in Mariposa County, offering her presence with consistency and goodwill.
Cynthia was preceded in death by Father Gary Godbey Sr. and Husband Thomas Blackmore. She is survived by her children Natasha Anne Monic Godbey, Kimberly Jasmine Renell Blackmore, and Michelle Lynne Marie Siler; her parents Martha Ann Benway and Delmas Benway; her brother Gary Godbey; her sister Christina Constantino; her grandchildren Zoe, Laura, Emily and Zacharias; and her great grandchildren Claire and Khalyla.
Above all, Cynthia was a kind, giving, and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the light and love as our Mother, and she will be missed but never forgotten. Forever 67.
