Born on July 16, 1950, in Turlock, California, Donna spent nearly her entire life in Merced, where she graduated from high school, built her career, and raised her family. She was the devoted mother of two sons, Andrew and Jack, and found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved.
Donna dedicated more than 30 years to the Merced County library system, where she worked as a library technician specializing in book repair. She had a natural patience and attention to detail, and took pride in giving well-loved books a second life so others could continue to enjoy them.
When she wasn't at work, Donna loved to sew and had a remarkable talent for creating intricate dresses for Barbie dolls. She found joy in making things by hand and took pride in every detail. She also had a lifelong love of music, especially classic rock, which was often the soundtrack to her days.
Donna was the eldest of three siblings. She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew; her brother, Ron; and her sister, Elisa.
She is survived by her son, Jack, and her cherished grandchildren, Madison, Rosco, Coraline, and Miriam, as well as her bonus grandchildren Vicente and Sebastian who knew her as their
grandmother.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to her daughter-in-law, Niki McCormick, the widow of her son Andrew, whose loving care and devotion allowed Donna to remain at home during the last two years of her life. Her grandchildren, Rosco and Coraline, were also a constant source of love, comfort, and support throughout her final years.
Donna's life was defined not by grand gestures, but by the countless small acts of care she gave to others—whether through restoring treasured books, sewing with love, or simply being a
steady and dependable presence. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
