Dorena Marie Gallardo

December 12, 1960 – March 14, 2011

Dorena Marie Anderson, 50, of Merced, recently retired Caregiver, died March 14, 2011, at home surrounded by her family after complications from a short illness.

Dorena was born December 12, 1960 in San Jose, California to Richard Vernon Anderson and Dorothy Jean Richardson. Following graduation from Samuel Ayer High School in Milpitas, California she became a Homemaker to focus on raising her children.

Over the years, Dorena had worked at various places including Color Press (World Color) and In Home Support Services.

He main hobbies and activities were spending time and money on her five grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Dorena struggled at times during her young life and made it a point to redeem herself in the eyes of her grandbabies.

Dorena was preceded in death by her brother, Manuel Fabian.

She is survived by her father, Richard V. Anderson of Stockton, CA; mother, Dorothy J. Richardson of Merced; son, Fernandeo J. Calixtro of Merced; daughter, Dilila E. Aganza of Merced; son, David Arizaga Jr. of Clermont, FL; daughter, Danita M. Arizaga of Cedar Rapids, IA; and by her five grandchildren.

Visitation for Dorena will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. with a memorial service following at 11:00 a.m. at Christian Church of The Valley, 2212 Cherry Avenue, Merced. Burial services are to be held at a later date.
