Elsie Lou Beeman

Elsie Lou Caton Beeman was born on September 18, 1928 in Atwater, CA where she lived for 10 years. She spent the remaining 75 years in Merced, CA and passed away on October 6, 2013 at home surrounded by loved ones. As a child Elsie worked in packing sheds and then as she got older she worked at various places. She worked at the Cozy Motel as a housekeeper; the California Canners and Growers as a sorter, packer, machine operator and loader; and a homemaker. Elsie was able to balance work, being a homemaker and taking care of her disabled son, Samuel who was a veteran.

In her free time she loved to bowl at Century Bowl in Merced and Bellvue Bowl in Atwater, and almost scored a 300! Elsie also enjoyed Halloween, Christmas, Dune Buggy rides, trips to Pismo Beach and Hawaii; and swimming with her many grandchildren. Talking on the CB as Kit Kat for many years was also one of her favorite things to do. Elsie was a member of Merced Runabouts since 1970 and a member of the VFW.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr Sanit Patel, Dr. Teresita Enad and a very very special thank you to Bristol Hospice for the exceptional care that was given.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Amy Caton; yours, mine and ours, William (Billy) Beeman, George Yansco, and L/CPL Samuel W. Yansco USMC Ret.; brothers, Billy, Jimmy, Joe, Charlie, Manuel, Danny, Richard and Henry; and sisters, Edna and Hazel. She leaves behind her husband of 53 years, Charles E. Beeman; yours, mine and ours, Janice E. Curtice Hernandez, Sharlet Renee Beeman, Margie Curtice Valenzuela, Timothy Curtice, Nova Beeman Beevers, Donald Curtice, Robin Curtice and Theresa Beeman; brother, Robert C. Caton; sister, Mary Caton Arriaga; 35 grandchildren; 96 great grandchildren; 26 great great grandchildren with 3 of them being last minute arrivals; and numerous nieces and nephews.Elsie was a very loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend who was deeply loved and will be missed. We thank God for the time we were able to have with her.
