Elsie Mae Cone

Elsie Mae Cone was born on May 4, 1926 to Jessie and Susan Bessie Johnson in Crawford, Arkansas and passed away on April 14, 2016 in Merced, California at the age of 89. She moved to Merced in 1943, where she was a homemaker. She attended the Merced Church of the Nazarene.

Elsie is preceded in death by her husband Richard Cone; sisters, Myrtle Carr, Mattie Brown, Jewel Sanders; brothers Bill Johnson, James Johnson, Rufus Johnson, Doug Johnson, Claude Johnson, Pete Johnson, John Johnson, LeRoy Harris, and John William (Buck) Harris.

Elsie is survived by her children, Susan Cathy Dierker and Richard Cone Jr (Belle). of Merced, California; brother, Ralph Johnson (Toni) of Merced California; grandchildren, Heather Cotton, Erica Shea, Tyler Cone, Adam Barden, and 6 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B Street, Merced, California. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Merced District Cemetery, 1300 B Street, Merced, California.
