Emma Lee Fowler Hardin, age 85, of Merced, California passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Emma was born June 28, 1939 in Stigler, Oklahoma. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and a store owner. Emma was a member of the Pentecostal church on 12th and P St. in Merced for decades.
She is survived by her siblings Jimmy Dean Brizendine (Bakersfield, CA) and Auldridge (Merced, CA); her grandchildren Craig Jason Mathis (Merced, CA) and Sarah Pauline Mathis (Merced, CA); great grandchildren Kevin Craig “KC” Mathis (Merced, CA) and many nieces and nephews.
Emma is preceded in death by her beloved son Gene Craig Mathis (Jan 2009), Pearl and Jim Brizendine (Mama & Daddy); brothers Luis, Harvel, William and Thomas Brizendine; sisters Thelma Burns and Francil Fowler.
She was a beloved Daughter, Sister, Mother and Granny. Emma enjoyed spoiling her family with homemade meals and delicious desserts.
A visitation for Emma will be held Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B Street, Merced, CA 953416304. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Merced Cemetery District, 1300 B St, Merced, CA 95341.
