Esperanza G. Rodriguez

Esperanza (Hope) Garcia Rodriguez passed away on April 20, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. She was born to Aurora and Manuel Garcia on April 1, 1943, in Merced, CA. She was married to Raul Rodriguez on December 2, 1970 They were married for 43 years.

Hope worked as a telephone operator and an engineering assistant for Pacific Bell, a teacher's aide at John Muir School, and volunteered at the Mercy Hospital gift shop and Our Lady of Mercy School. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and belonged to St. Patrick's Parish in Merced.

Hope is survived by her children Vicky Bryan, Raul Rodriguez III, Rachel Rodriguez Daniele, and granddaughter Kristin; siblings Trino Garcia, Binnie Carroll, and Mary Jane Avila; as well as several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raul Rodriguez, her parents, and her siblings, Frankie Garcia, Lupe Garcia, Eddie Garcia, Teresa Moreno, and Joey Garcia.

Hope will be terribly missed. Her friends and family cherish fond memories of their beloved mother, grandmother, and friend.

A Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022, at St. Patrick's Church in Merced, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be at San Joaquin National Cemetery in Santa Nella at 1 p.m.
