Harlan Hugh McCollum

Mr. Harlan McCollum was born to Leona and Clayton McCollum on July 24, 1940 in Madison, Kansas. He passed away at the age of 76 on August 24, 2016 at his home in Merced, California where he was a resident for 49 years.

Harlan taught math at Merced High School for 35 years. He was very passionate about his teaching. He was a loving husband and very devoted to his family.

Harlan is preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Leona McCollum.

He is survived by his Wife, Jeannette McCollum; daughters, Kelly (Jeff) Upchurch of Sacramento and Leslie (Greg) Easter of Lincoln; son, Eric (Danxin) McCollum of Fair Oaks; brother, Jerry (Beth) McCollum; grandchildren, Trent Upchurch, Jeremy Upchurch, Kyle Easter, Colby Easter, Rudan McCollum and Hewdan McCollum and his great grandchild, Charlie Upchurch.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to United Methodist Church Scholarships Fund in honor of Harlan McCollum at 899 Yosemite Parkway, Merced, California 95340.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church located at 899 Yosemite Parkway.
