Harvey Anthony Freitas

Harvey Freitas “VU” a lifelong resident of Merced CA passed away peacefully at Mercy Medical Center Merced CA, on December 26, 2014. Harvey was born on January 30, 1927 in Merced CA, and Harvey remained in the very house he was born in for his entire life. Harvey spent a majority of his life farming sweet potatoes for Gerber baby food. Harvey was a loving dad “VU” loved being with family and friends, he loved Football and Nascar.

Harvey was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years Rene (Noni) Freitas, Parents Lawrence & Maria Freitas, brothers Joe, Edwin Freitas. Harvey is survived by his sons Randy Freitas, Kevin (Carrie) Freitas, Grandchildren, Amy, Eric, Matthew, Aaron, Tyler Freitas, Great Grandchildren Nathan Mann, Isaak Freitas, Nikki Spezza, Kyle Cramer, and Great Great Grandchild Kam Cramer.

A visitation will be held on Thursday January 8th 2015 from 4:00-7:00 pm with Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 pm at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home 1490 B Street Merced CA, 95341. A funeral Service will be held on Friday January 9th 2015 at 1:00 pm at Stratford Evans Merced Chapel 1490 B Street Merced CA, 95341.Burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery 260 west child’s Avenue Merced CA, 95340.
