Harvey Raymond Goss 10-28-1945 – 4-14-2026. Harvey, 80, was born in Sacramento, CA to Geraldine Grace Astorgia and Irby Raymond Goss. He grew up in the Sacramento area but lived in Merced for 50 years. Harvey served in the US Army from 1965 to 1967, going through basic training in Fort Ord, CA. He had a long career with Caltrans, doing a variety of jobs. He loved working in the mountains during the snow season and did that for several seasons. Harvey was a member of the American Legion, Merced Historical Society, and the Atwater Historical Society. Harvey loved traveling the back roads and Rock n’ Roll music. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Erica Groth Goss and his children Rosa Nees-Sequeira of Manteca, CA; Jacob Raymond Goss (Angela) of Atwater, and Ashley Elin Cooman (Josh) of Atwater. And grandchildren Ophelia Raylynn Cooman of Atwater and Enrique Xavier Perez of Merced. He also leaves behind his brother Eugene Goss (Susan) of Fair Oaks, CA. Graveside services will be held at Winton Cemetery on May 29, 2026 at 10AM.
