

Heber G. Foster AKA, The Tootsie Roll Man and The Olive Man was the sixth child of seven born to Thomas and Jessie Foster in Winton, California on November 27, 1928. He passed away February 28, 2016 at the age of 87 years.
The early years of his life you found him working on the family ranch, almond hullers, or the peach sheds. He then went to work for MID working at Exchequer Dam for 43 years. After retirement he could be found on his daily walks handing out Tootsie Roll's to the kids, curing olives for his friends and family to enjoy, or playing his guitar and singing to the patients at the local nursing homes. He loved his family and enjoyed organizing the Foster-Crooks family reunion for the last 44 years. He met and married Jewel Bowman in 1946. After celebrating 50 years together, Jewel preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Ivone Myers-Foster whom he married on his 79th birthday.
He is also survived by his daughters, Judy (Curtis) Phillips, Denton, TX; Joyce (Bob) Pedersen, Conroe, TX; Helen Jean Grass, Atwater, CA, stepchildren, Gary Myers, Grover City, CA; Tanya; Terri; sister, Wilda Sutherland, Merced, CA; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and 4 step-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Ivers & Alcorn Funeral Home located at 3050 Winton Way in Atwater. Dr. Gary Martin will officiate services on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church, 7264 W. Myrtle Avenue, Winton, CA. Burial will follow at Winton District Cemetery.
