Jeanine Anne Spielman

She married the love of her life, William “Bill” James Spielman, in 1957. She then moved with him to the United States. Jeanine and Bill celebrated 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2017.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Anastasie; her brother, Leon; her sister, Elaine; her grandson, Chase; and her best friend, Heidi Preston.

Jeanine was the proud mother of four sons: Anthony (Patti), Michael (Sandi), Patrick, and Richard (Amber). She was a devoted “Grammie” to her grandchildren Craig, Jennifer, Brittany, Kallie, Sterling, Sharise, Jessica, and Anna, and to her twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.

She loved baking, knitting, water aerobics, cats, reading mystery novels, the beauty salon, saying “oh la la”, journaling about her travels, and keeping up with family and friends, especially on

Facebook. She was known for her chic style (Kelli’s was her second home), love of fashion and beauty, and generous spirit. Her home was always warm, welcoming, and often filled with laughter,

stories, and sweet treats.

Jeanine was a devout Catholic and a woman deeply devoted to her family. She never lost her French accent or her sense of style. Above all, Jeanine cherished her family and the life she built. She lived fully, loved deeply, and will be remembered with adoration by all who knew her.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Rosa Romero, and all of the caregivers for their kindness, companionship, and compassionate care during her final years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chase Spielman Scholarship Fund.

Vigil Service with Rosary will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, beginning at 10:30 a.m. with the Funeral Mass following at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church located at 671 E. Yosemite Ave., Merced, California. A reception of celebration of life will follow services.
