Jessie May Dean was born on December 22, 1944 in Houston, TX and passed away on August 4, 2012 in Merced, CA at the age of 67.
Jessie liked to listen to music and loved to sing. When people would come to the house she would entertain them with her singing. She sang in the choir with her cousin, Nora Lee, who was like a sister to her. Jessie also enjoyed telling stories of the past, playing dominoes, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She met Fred Dean Sr. at the age of 4 and they later were married for 56 years.
She went home to spend her last days with her family and that meant so much to her.
Jessie was preceded in death by her father, Mim Bridges; son, Raymond Charles Dean; daughter, Mary Ann Dean; and sisters, Martha McAlister, Minnie, Helen, and Betty Means.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Dean Sr.; mother, Louise Means; children, Fred Dean Jr., James (Dorothy) Dean, and Louise Dean; grandchildren, Raymond Dean Jr., Andre Guzman, Ieisha and Marlena Dean, Mike Cisneros, and Yvonne Coleman; numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Linda and Lena Means; brothers, Alonzo and Eddie Means; and a host of nephews and nieces.
Services will be at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B St., Merced, CA on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 12:00pm with internment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, 1480 B St., Merced, CA.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.
