Jimmie Lee Dover

Jimmie Lee Dover, passed away December 31, 2021 in Turlock, Ca. with his family at his side. Jim was born in Eufaula, Ok. To his parents, James Calloway Dover and Ethel Mattie Dover on July 2, 1939. His only son James Rusty Dover passed away on February 1, 2021.

Surviving Jim are his siblings, Cathy (Larry) Torongo of Bend, Or., and Gene Dover of Merced, Ca. along with many nieces and nephews.

In 1943 his family moved to Clayton, Ca for a short time and then back to Oklahoma. In 1944 his family them moved back to California and made Dos Palos, Ca. their permanent residence. Jim went to Bryant Elementary School and then to Jr. High and High School in Dos Palos. Jim graduated from High School in 1957, where he excelled in football and track. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force for 4 years where he spent 2 years in Galena Air Base in Alaska. Jim was an avid reader of book, magazines and he read 2 newspapers daily.

He will surely be missed by his friends and family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at 1320 Silhouette Ct., Merced. All friends and family are invited.
