

JoAnn DeMore reached the end of her full life on June 3, 2025, 9 days before her 81 birthday, which is today.Born on June 12, 1944 to Roy and Cora Harris, JoAnn was raised in Winton, California. She was one of five siblings, Paul, Veda, Fae and Judy. She married Michael DeMore on August 4, 1961 and raised a family in San Jose. After her divorce in 1975, JoAnn started working in shipping and receiving for a semi-conductor company. During her career, she was entrusted to travel to the Philippines to help other locations increase their efficiency and she enjoyed the travel. She retired in 1999 to help take care of her ailing mother.
JoAnn enjoyed visiting with strangers, friends and neighbors and over the years played neighborhood Canasta, belonged to a bowling team, square danced and spent three years as a Girl Scout troop leader. She was always looking for new additions to her collection of owl art and figurines. She loved her garden. You could find her at almost any time of day or night tending to her orchids, begonias, succulents, and a host of other plants in pots and in the ground or just sitting at her patio table enjoying the beauty.
JoAnn is survived by her daughter Charlene and husband Jim, and her son Anthony. She is predeceased by her son, Michael Scott. She leaves behind her 5 grandchildren: Amber and husband Stephen, Michael Kevin and wife Kayla, Joshua and wife Bekah, Kimberly and husband Joshua, and Christopher; and 7 great-grandchildren: Corbin, Alexander, Lexi, Madison, Lucas, Natalie, and Benjamin. She is also survived by her brother, Paul and wife Koaki and sister, Judy and husband Rick. She leaves behind other family members, dear friends, and her devoted dog Mia Lacy, who will sadly miss her.
