Mr. Chavez was a very sweet, fun loving gentle man I was blessed to know. I remember the 1st family dinner I had at their home, I was so nervous but from the moment I sat down both Joe made me feel like like he had known me all my life, like I was family. Thank you making he feel this way. Mr. Chavez “Joe” alway had something funny to say or a story about growing up in the old days. Never will I forget the way Joe would look at Josie you knew they had that once in a lifetime special love. Mr. Chavez thank you for Sharing your stories, white peaches but most or Your with me me. God Bless You & Rest in Peace ,
Love Debbie

I don't remember exactly when it started, but every visit, Grandpa & I would take a selfie, sometimes making goofy faces, sometimes with cervezas in hand. He was such a ham for the camera; it was delightful. I will miss marking our time together with this silliness.

I have so many wonderful memories of Christmas at my abuelitos house. Such a beautiful tree, good food, good company. This picture is a wonderful depiction of the classy way they continued to hold the holiday, well into their elder years.
