Joe Ferreira

Joseph A. Ferreira was born on January 8, 1922 in Gustine, CA to Joe and Elvira Ferreira. He peacefully passed away in Modesto, CA with his family at his side at the age of 90.

Joe served in the United States Army during World War II, and was a member of the American Legion till the time of his death. After retiring from Petrolane, he loved going camping to Santa Cruz, Eureka, and Arizona with family and friends. He also was an avid fisherman, grew big gardens, and loved his dogs.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Mary Jane; 1 brother, John; and sisters, Mary Mays and Angie Powel.

He is survived by daughters, Dede Kimbro (Doyle) and Sharon Faria (Joe); 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

A Recitation of the Rosary will be held Friday, June 1, 2012 at 2:00pm followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Sacred Heart Church, 9317 Amistad Ave, Planada, CA. Burial will follow at the Plainsburg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that remembrances be made to the Hospice of Emanuel, 1850 Colorado Ave, Turlock, CA 95382-2717.
