John Henry Bentley

John Henry Bentley was born on November 1, 1938 to Ozie an Jessie Bentley. He passed away on October 29, 2017 from natural causes. John worked as a supervisor at a combustion engineering plant. He was also a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, the Masonic Cornerstone Lodge III, Mt. Siani Consistory 303 and Shriners Sapher Temple 117. John enjoyed gardening, fishing, soul food, blues and gospel music, watching the Atlanta Braves and the Indianapolis Colts.

John is preceded in death by his parents Ozie and Jessie Bentley, his sisters Martha, Coma, Hazel and Margaret, his brothers Gerald and Walter Bentley and his son Cedric.

He is survived by his wife Lois Bentley, his children Jaymes Bentley, Sharon Gillis, Glynis Bentley, his brothers Bennie and Eugene Bentley, his sisters Mae Thorpe, Jessie, Luegene, Shellie and Alma Gene Bentley. Along with 5 granchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held for John on November 4, 2017 at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, located at 1490 B Street, Merced, California at 10:00 a.m..
