Jose Dy Co Jr.

On February 15, 2024, Jose Dy Co Jr unexpectedly passed away from a sudden cardiac arrest at Dignity Health Mercy Medical Center in Merced, California at the age of 75.

Jose was one of 12 siblings, born on August 19, 1948, to Mother, Lourdes Uy Dy, and Father, Ho Chua in Pasay City, Philippines. He moved to America in 1980 to pursue a better future and establish a career where he served in the post office as a mail carrier for 26 years. There he was respected by many for his kind heart and perseverance. On August 2006, He married his wife, Laarni Roque and worked hard to support her and her three children. Over the years he would enjoy taking his family on a variety of trips, especially to amusement parks as he enjoyed playing arcade games. His hobbies include many, number one being fishing at the ocean, and others, gardening, collecting collectibles, music and entertaining family and friends with talks and laughs. Lastly, Jose was a very generous man. He enjoyed gifting and performing acts of kindness to not just family and friends but even to neighbors.

Jose is survived by his wife Laarni Roque Co; Step Sons, Jad Delos Reyes & Jerrold Delos Reyes; Daughter, Francine Delos Reyes and 5 siblings residing in Monterey County (Sisters, Lani Co, Lolet Baldonado & Brothers, Willie Co, Rodolfo Co, & Jesus Co.) He is also survived by other friends and relatives and remaining siblings in the Philippines.

Viewing will be held at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 9am-1pm

at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B Street, Merced, CA 95341, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
