Jose Ramirez Miranda was born November 13, 1935 in Salamanca, Gto. Mexico and went home to our Lord and Saviour on November 24, 2018 in Merced, California.

He is preceded in death by his two infant sons, Joe R. and Jose; his parents, Heriberta and Graciano and his brother Domingo.

He is survived by his beloved wife Julia Avila Miranda; his brothers, Pedro, Lupe (Juanita), Frank (Frances); his sisters, Maria Paz, Juana, Gregoria, Maria (Cuauhtemoc) and many nieces and nephews.

In the early 1940’s our family moved from Mexico to Texas, Arizona and California where he worked as a farmworker. Jose was a proud member of the United Farmworkers Union for several years. He lived in LeGrand, where he met his future wife Julia Avila and married in 1966. They moved to Planada and later to Merced. Jose was a devoted and loving husband, son, brother and uncle. He enjoyed working on cars, being with his family and friends and took pride in his two dogs.. He will be missed greatly.

There will be a visitation on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 4-8:00 pm. A rosary will start at 7:00 pm at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home located at 1490 B Street, Merced, California. The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. The interment will follow the memorial service.

Siento mucho por el dolor por el que están pasando por la reciente pérdida de su ser querido. Por eso les escribo para que sepan que la Biblia da esperanza. A mí me han consolado mucho las palabras de la escritura de Hechos 24:15-‘y tengo esperanza en cuanto a Dios, esperanza que estos mismos también abrigan, de que va a haber resurrección así de justos como de injustos.’
Que maravillosa esperanza el saber que podrán disfrutar de estar con Don José otra vez. Tengan la seguridad de que Dios así lo hará.
