

Mom (Juanita) was very dedicated to her family, she loved us all very much. She enjoyed all kinds of music and loved to dance. Mom was an advocate in
government. She was a strong believer in freedom of speech. Her passion was gardening and taking care of her cats, Cait Leonardo and Dusty Baker. Juanita is preceded in death by her grandparents Victoria Mendoza Cordero and Lazaro Cordero and her parents Joe Martinez and Mary Cordero. Her brothers Joe, Raymond, Jesse and Lester Martinez. Her sisters Mary Ornelas, Sara Stinson, Connie Gonzales, and Carmel Perez, as well as her children, Joseph I. Martinez, Lawrence E. Martinez, and Juanita L. Martinez.
She is survived by her children, Edward W. Martinez of Kelseyville, California, David Martinez of Modesto, California, Luther Martinez of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Steven Martinez of Merced, California, Helen Casias Martinez of Merced, California, Linda Martinez of Merced, California, Victoria Ochoa of Mira Loma, California, and Theresa Martinez of Sacramento, California. She also leave behind her brother Frank Martinez of Mariposa, California and sisters, Dolores Valenzuela of Merced, California, Francis Polanco of Las Vegas, Nevada. As well as 24 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 6 greatgreat
grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July, 13, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with vigil service with rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home located at 1490 B Street Merced, California 95341. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 519 W 13th Street Merced, California 95341 with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery located at 260 W Childs Ave. Merced, California 95341.
