Kathleen Jo Truax

Kay was an Instructional Assistant for the Merced City School District where she retired from. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafting and gardening. Kay was funny, smart and she loved to talk and had “the gift to gab”. Her greatest joy in life was her family and especially all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was adored by her family who loved to spend time with her. Kay also enjoyed visiting and spending time with her neighbors and friends. She treasured her friendships greatly. She enjoyed her conversations with her brother Jeff, sister in-law Karen and her extended family in Michigan.

Kay is preceded in death by her parents Marion and Wayne Herriman; her husband Charles Truax and brother Patrick Herriman.

She is survived by her children, Kelly (Jo) Truax of Pollock Pines, Ca., Laura (Tim) Reynolds of Merced, Ca. and Danny (Kathy) Truax of Stockton, Ca and her brother Jeff (Karen) Herriman of Flushing, MI. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kevin (Lydia) Reynolds, Sarah (Brad) Buckingham, Chelsea (Colin) Kelly, Andrew Truax, Ian Truax, Jacquelyn Truax, Kevin Truax, Matthew Truax and great grandchildren, Taylor Reynolds, Anthony Reynolds, Jacksynn Reynolds, Easton Buckingham, Avery Buckingham, Camden Buckingham and Leighton Kelly. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she enjoyed seeing and spending time with over the years. She will forever be missed by her loving family and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life held for Kathleen on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home located at 1490 B Street, Merced, Ca at 12:00 p.m.
