

Lorenzo Tarin, a man whose laughter and generosity of spirit left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he knew, passed away on June 15, 2025, at the age of 59. Born on May 8, 1966, in San Jose, California.
Lorenzo's life was a testament to the love he had for his family. He is survived by his cherished wife of 21 years, Rosa Ochoa. His mother, Concepción Tarin, and his children and Elizabeth, along with his stepchildren, Linda, Juan, Gloria, and Ricardo, will forever hold his memory dear. Lorenzo's siblings, Francisco Jr., Elojio, Crecinsio, Maria, Concepción, Alejandra, Ruth, Juana, Manuela, and Lupe.
He is reunited by his father, Francisco Tarin Sr., his two sons Jose Lorenzo Tarin Jr., his brothers, Miguel Sr., Miguel Jr., Domingo, and Jose.
Professionally, Lorenzo was a skilled mechanic, a trade that he was passionate about and which allowed him to provide for his family. His love for cars extended beyond the garage, and he often spent his free time listening to music and driving his truck, with the windows down and the oldies turned up. Lorenzo's commitment to his faith was evident in his active participation in the Catholic Church, where he was a familiar and comforting presence.
Lorenzo's interests were as varied as they were joyful. His love for working on cars was matched only by his love for sharing laughter with friends and family. Whether he was making a room erupt in laughter with his witty jokes or lending a helping hand to anyone in need, Lorenzo's warmth and kindness were his hallmarks. His favorite pastime included visits to the casinos, where he enjoyed the thrill of the game.
His life was a beautiful mosaic of the people he cared for, the work he did with his hands, and the faith he carried in his heart. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we celebrate the countless moments of joy he gave us and the unwavering light he shone in our lives. Lorenzo's memory will continue to guide and inspire us all. His was a life well-lived, and he will be profoundly missed.
A Visitation for Lorenzo will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B Street, Merced, California.
A Prayer Service will occur Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 562 W 12th St, Merced, California.
A Funeral Service will occur Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 562 W 12th St, Merced, California.
A Graveside Service will occur Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at St Mary's Cemetery, 900 1st St, Gilroy, California.
