Lucy Fatima Gasaway

She is preceded in death by her father, Mike Barroso.

She is survived by her husband, John Gasaway; mother, Olivia Barroso; sister, Theresa Barroso (Ernie Coughlin); sons, Mark (Heather), Jacob, and Paul Gasaway; daughter, Amanda (Ryan) Williams; grandchildren, Abby and Noah Gasaway, Rylee, Sawyer, and Quinn Williams.

At the age of two, Lucy moved with her family to California’s Central Valley where she grew up on the family dairy. She graduated from Merced High School in 1982. She married her devoted husband, John in 1983, and they raised a beautiful family together in Merced, California. Lucy volunteered her time sharing her strong faith as a catechism teacher and was a hard worker doing various jobs before establishing her own successful house-cleaning business.

Lucy was a devout Catholic. She loved the Lord with all of her heart. She was also a member of the Carmelites. She loved sharing stories about the many blessings she had received. She loved wholeheartedly and lived selflessly. She was the most caring mother and loving grandmother. Family was everything to Lucy, and she was everything to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. with the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Atwater. Burial will follow at Winton District Cemetery.
