Manuel Joseph Chavez

Manuel worked as a custodian for Tenaya Middle School. He enjoyed fishing, cherished his time with his family and treasured time spent with his fur babies. He had a love for baseball and also football, especially the Merced High Bears games played here in Merced and with the Livingston High Wolves, when they played at home.

Manuel is survived by his children, Margaret Ann Alvarez of Merced, Nancy (Don) Patnude of Merced, Teresa (Larry) Scott of Stockton and Joey (Patricia) Chavez of Livingston. Also surviving him are 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Luciano and Margarita Chavez; his wife, Joann Chavez; brothers, Jess, Arnold and Raymond Chavez and Adolph Augustian; sisters, Mary Vargas, Genevieve Cortinas and Lucy Padilla; son in-law, Roy Alvarez.

A great thank you to Mercy Dignity Health Home Care team, especially Juliana Hernandez and Mandi Lopez. A special thank you to Rosie Shelton of Mercy Medical ER and nurses, Maria Perez and Naomi.
