

Marjorie Goncalves was born on May 28, 1926 to Harry and Mildred Latour in Merced, California and passed away on February 26, 2016 in Merced, California. Marjorie was the owner and operator of Merced Letter Shop for 18 years and previously worked for TriValley Growers for 25 years as a secretary.
Marge was a member of the Native Daughters of California for 75 years. She grew up in the Merced Mariposa Stockhorse Association. Marge and her mother Mildred Latour rode horseback from Merced to the Yosemite National Park. Taking 3 days to make the ride.
Marge was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and was well known for putting her whole den of 10 or more in her Volkswagen beetle. She was active in the girl scouts.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mildred Latour.
Marjorie is survived by her husband Louis Goncalves; children, Michael Goncalves (Deb) of Wyoming, Carolyn/Sis (Norman) of Idaho and Fred Goncalves (Cindy) of Merced; brothers, George Webber of Merced and Bob Latour of Portersville; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Marge had an unendless love for animals. She often brought home lost dogs and had many cats that decided their home was with her. She fed the birds every day and enjoyed watching the birds visit the feeder.
