May 27, 1947 – September 25, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Patsy “Pat” Jane Keltner, who entered into her Heavenly Father’s loving peace on September 25, 2025, at the age of seventy-eight.
Pat was born May 27, 1947, in Agoura, California, Los Angeles County, to Roy Dickerson and Patsy Jane (Parsley) Dickerson. She was the beloved mother of Melissa Shawn James and Paul Joseph Fieber, and a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother.
Pat is survived by her children, Melissa Shawn James and Paul Joseph Fieber; her siblings James (Jimmy) Dickerson, Richard Dickerson, Lois Piniol, Alan Piniol, and Marcia Piniol; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Patsy Jane Parsley (1926–1980), and her beloved brother, Bernardo Lee Piniol (1952–2015).
Pat will be remembered for her wide, warm smile and her caring, compassionate nature. She learned the value of hard work at a young age and carried that ethic throughout her life.
Raised mostly in Merced, California, Pat attended school there and later went on to beauty college, working for a time as a hairdresser. After marrying and welcoming her first child, Melissa, she devoted several years to being a stay-at-home mother. During that time, she also sold Home Interiors products, developing a natural talent for decorating.
Following the end of her marriage, Pat began her career with the County of Merced, where she worked faithfully for 25 years. After retirement, she continued her life of service as a caregiver, taking great pride and fulfillment in helping others.
Pat loved to stay active and creative. She was gifted in embroidery, counted cross-stitch, and sewing—often making clothing and dolls’ dresses, and lovingly handcrafting quilts for her children and grandchildren, each square carefully embroidered. She enjoyed swimming, water aerobics, and spending time visiting with family and friends.
A devoted believer in Jesus Christ, Pat found great joy in Bible study and was especially fond of the books and teachings of Joyce Meyer. Her faith was a constant source of strength throughout her life.
Pat’s spirit lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the many feline companions she lovingly cared for. Those who knew her will remember her for her strength, kindness, laughter, and unwavering love.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Humane Society, an organization close to Pat’s heart.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
