Patricia Lea Kaneko

Patricia Lea Kaneko: Patricia Ellis, Mead, Kaneko: Born February 27, 1933 in Battle Creek, Michigan, to R.G. Ellis and Anna Mae Poole. Died March 23, 2017 in Murrieta, California. The oldest of 7 children, she graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1951.

She is survived by her husband, Jeffery Kaneko.

Children: David Mead (wife Dolores), Robert Mead, Dorilee Mead, Steven Mead (wife Shari) and Therese Diane-deceased.

15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Sisters: Grace Chema (husband Frank), Kathryn Sanders-deceased (husband Ed-deceased), and Ruthann Wilde.

Brothers: Roger “Spike” Ellis-deceased (wife Penny), John Robert Owczarzak (wife-Naida), and Joel Crawl (wife Pat).

Mother: Anna Mae Owczarzak-deceased. Step-Father: Robert John Owczarzak-deceased.

She worked multiple jobs and professions until eventually retiring from University of California at Los Angeles.

Everyone knows that there was nothing Pat loved more than spending time with her family and she always made her love for them known to them and everyone. I mean everyone!

Her door was always open to anyone who needed a home and she was there to listen and offer help if she could. She had a heart bigger than most.

She passed away after ‘fighting the good fight’, surrounded by an amazing amount of love from near and far. She will be deeply missed by so many.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home located at 1490 B Street Merced, California 95341. Interment will follow at Merced District Cemetery at 1300 B Street Merced, California 95341. A reception will be held at Stratford Evans Reception Hall following services.
