Patricia Laverne Machado passed away unexpectedly at the age of 76, at Sutter Health Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, CA on Thursday, May 9, 2024. Pat (Patsy) had many careers over the years; however, she most loved her time as a school bus driver for special needs children. This is where she met the love of her life Eric Machado. Pat and Eric married on February 23, 1991 at the Lake Tahoe Wedding Chapel, Stateline, Nevada.
In retirement, she became a full-time homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She was also a lifelong animal lover.
Patsy was born on November 23, 1947 in Merced, CA, to Jesse and Charlene Womack. She is survived by her husband of 33 years Eric Machado; her sister Lynda Rocha; and her daughter Shawna Baker; and son-in-law Kelly Baker; and her daughter-in-law Julie Crandell; and her step-daughters Linda Lamerson; Carol O’Grady; her step-son-in-laws Brian Lamerson and Jess O’Grady; her 10 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents Jesse and Charlene Womack; her son Scott Crandell; and her brother-in-law Abel Rocha.
A memorial service to celebrate Pat’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on June 21, 2024, at Stratford Evans Funeral Home, 1490 B. Street, Merced, CA 95341. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., 260 Childs Ave, Merced, CA 95341. Reception will be at Stratford Evans Reception Hall at 12:00 p.m., 1490 B. Street, Merced, CA 95341.
