Paul L. Munoz passed away on January 10, 2011, in Merced, California at the age of 71. Paul was the only child born to Jose Munoz and Efila Lopez. He was born on June 23, 1939 in Harlingen, Texas. He lived in Merced, California for 40 years.

Paul worked for Merced County Department of Parks and Recreation for 32 years before retiring in 2004.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Munoz and Efila Lopez of Harlingen, Texas; and stepmother, Juana Munoz of Merced, California.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Castro Munoz; his sons, Paul Munoz Jr. of Merced, CA, Larry Munoz of Tucson, AZ, and Ruben Munoz of Fresno, CA. He is also survived by children, Benny Ramos, Elizabeth Medina, Barbara Lomeli, and Denise Ramos all of Merced, CA; 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Merced. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
