

Ralph was born in Merced where he attended Galen Clark Elementary and was a member of the Sacred Heart Boys Baseball Club. In his teens he relocated with his family to Southern California where he continued his education. In his adult years, he worked in the construction trades.
In addition to his love for playing baseball, Ralph enjoyed ballroom dancing, billiards, gardening and fishing. He had an artistic talent for drawing and an interest in picking the guitar. Whatever endeavor he attempted, his goal was to be the best.
Upon his return to Merced, Ralph made many friends. As his health deteriorated he became a permanent resident of the Integrated Health Care Facility, where he passed away peacefully.
Ralph was preceded in death by his mother, Carmen Garcia Espinosa; father, Constantino Espinosa; daughter, Valerie Espinosa; brother, Raymond Espinosa; and sister, Isabell Guttierez.
He leaves behind his sons, Ivan, Ralph Jr., Tyrone and Mark; brothers, Roy and Frank Espinosa; sisters, Angie, Dorothy Ortega (Pete) and Gloria Lumpkin; 10 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B St., Merced, CA on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 10:00am.
