

Raymond Navarro, a longtime resident of Winton, passed away peacefully at his home on February 8, 2025, at the age of 82. He was born on May 2, 1942, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Joe and Esther Navarro. As a child, his family relocated to California, where he was raised and attended school.
Raymond resided in Planada until his marriage to Catalina Magdalena, with whom he shared 40 years of devotion. Together, they built a life and raised their son, Raymond Jr.
In his early years, Raymond worked in agriculture before pursuing a career in trucking. In 1978, he purchased his own truck and became an independent truck driver, a profession he dedicated himself to for 35 years. His commitment to safety and professionalism earned him numerous awards and recognition for his impeccable driving record and customer service.
Beyond his career, Raymond found joy in tending to his backyard, where he cultivated a variety of fruit trees. He had a deep affection for his cat, Fluffy, and was a passionate Raiders fan. He also enjoyed deep-sea fishing, and a cold Bud Light with dinner.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Catalina, his son Raymond Jr., and his sister Mary Ann Luna. He is survived by his sisters Millie, Rosemary and Alice. He will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B Street, Merced, CA 95341. Burial will follow at Plainsburg Cemetery.
