Rigoberto Avina

Rigoberto Avina, cherished husband of EveAngelina Avina, devoted father of two beautiful children- Izaiah (5years) and Elijah (3years), beloved son of Armando and Ismene Rodriguez. Rigoberto Avina, adored brother to Jocelyn Parrish (Cody), and loyal friend, passed away unexpectedly on May 26, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Born in Merced, California, RJ brought joy and light into the world form the moment he entered it. He grew up surrounded by the love of his family and friends, shaping him into the remarkable man he became. After meeting the love of his life, EveAngelina he made a home in Pahrump, Nevada where they built a life filled with happiness and love.

As an employee of the National Park Service, RJ dedicated himself to preserving the natural beauty of our country’s most treasured landscapes. His passion for nature was evident in everything he did, whether he was exploring the great outdoors with his family or sharing his love for camping and fishing with friends.

RJ had a zest for life that was contagious, and his laughter could light up any room. His infectious smile and warm hugs brought comfort to those around him, and his genuine kind spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He found joy in the simple pleasures, from BBQs with his famous carne asada marinade to cheering on his beloved Raiders with unwavering loyalty.

But above all else, RJ was a baptized Christian who had a profound love for the lord. He found solace and strength in his relationship with God, and his favorite Christian son, “I Can Only Imagine” by MercyMe, resonated deeply with his soul.

Though RJ may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will live on in the memories we hold dear. He touched the lives of countless people with his kindness, generosity, and infectious smile. And while we mourn the loss of such a remarkable soul, we take comfort in knowing that he is at peace, surrounded by the beauty of the heavens above.

A celebration of RJ’s life will be held on June 22, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B Street Merced, California, 95341.

Forever in our hearts, RJ will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May his spirit continue to guide and inspire us all as we carry his memory forward with love.
