Ruben was a pillar of strength and support for his loved ones. He and Rosemary raised their children—Antonia, Victoria, Chasity, Stefani, and Robert—with unwavering love, guidance, and wisdom. He was a devoted father who was always there to offer encouragement, advice, and a steady hand. He treasured his role as provider, protector and mentor to us. His unwavering love, guidance & support leaves a legacy of compassion, strength & unity.
He was a proud and loving “Papa” to his grandchildren: Ruben, Mario (Junior), Cristopher, Elijah, Alina, Arianna, Rubein, Zion (Chubba), Rosemary (Tay), Yusuf, Juan, Jenna, Michael, Bella, Cisco, Violet, and Sebastian. He was also blessed with many great-grandchildren: Ben, Elianna, Avery, Andrea, Emiliano, Aleya, Gianni, Rubyrose, Landon, Ryder, Adella, Aurora, Gabriel, Anjali, Everett, Zayla, Jett, Max, Abigail, Alexis and Bonnie. His greatest joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Ruben proudly served his country in the United States Army and was deployed to Vietnam. He later dedicated many years of service working at Modine Western until its closure and went on to serve his community as a City of Merced bus driver.
A man of deep and unwavering faith, Ruben had a servant’s heart and lived his life devoted to God. He could often be found sitting in his chair with his Bible, studying the Word, or at church preparing and cleaning for services. He was always quick to pray for anyone in need, and he made everyone feel welcomed, loved, and accepted.
Ruben was preceded in death by his parents, Sebastian and Victoria Flores; his siblings, Ascension, Bernie, Daniel, Sebastian, Anita, and Alex; and his beloved grandson, Zion (Chubba).
He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary Flores; his children; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sisters, Juanita, Ramona, and Virginia; his brother, Benny; as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends who will continue to cherish his memory.
Ruben will be remembered for his kindness, strength, generosity, and the love he shared so freely with others. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he cherished.
