Sheryln Kay Cole

Kay graduated High School in Pinckneyville, Illinois and completed Beautician School Du Quoin, Illinois, where she then owned and operated her own Beauty Salon. She then married her husband, U.S. Army Retired LTC Kenneth M. Cole and moved to Mineral Well, Texas, where she worked as the office manager of a local air conditioning company.

Kay moved to Merced, California 42 years ago and worked at Quebecor for 25 years, retiring as a Color Pre-Press Quality Controller.

Kay lost her husband of 23 years in 1995. She then met her mate for life, Roy Jayne of Fallon, Nevada. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, boating, gold prospecting, and taking care of her dogs, cats, and her horse, Whinny.

Kay was of the Catholic faith. She was generous and loving mother and aunt. She is preceded in death by her husband, U.S. Army Retired LTC Kenneth M. Cole; parents, Rolla H. and Maxine E. Pierce; brother, Rolla K Pierce; and nephew, Aaron Pierce.

She is survived by her step-daughter, Corina (Colee Cole) Ward of Enterprise, Alabama, and her step-granddaughter, Lane Kay (Cole) Ward of Birmingham, Alabama. Nieces, Kim (Pierce) and husband, Richard Suffecool, Stephanie (Pierce) and husband, Jon Schaefer of Merced, California.

She will be greatly missed.

Memorial Service will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 11:00 am at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.
