Teresa was devoted to her family and to the steady, meaningful work of caring for a home. She was also a valued member of the Deaf club of Stockton, where her presence and connection with others reflected a sincere commitment to community.
Teresa is survived by her husband of 40 years, Larry A. Scott; her godchildren, Jaclyn Reyna and Alicia Rodriguez; her brother, Joey Chavez (Patricia); her sisters, Margaret Ann Alvares and Nancy Patnude; and one nephew Joseph Chavez, five nieces Deana Alvarez, Angelina Rodriguez, Jaclyn Reyna, Emily and Grace Chavez, one great nephew Joseph Chavez, and one great niece Evelyn Chavez.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Joann Chavez, and her brothers-in-laws, Roy Alvarez and Don Patnude.
There will be a Rosary on April 24, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. following with Mass at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Merced, California.
