Arkansas. Viola was the first girl born of fifteen children. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior.
She attended Hazen Elementary School in Hazen Arkansas. The family relocated to Hanford, California where she continue her education while helping her mother take care of her younger siblings. She married the love of her life, Lee Andrew Moore and from this union they had six children. She held many jobs to help raise this family. She worked as a sharecropper, maid and cannery worker. She wanted a better life for her family so she eventually went to night school to finish her high school education. Once she completed her high school requirements, she began work as a teacher’s aide in the Merced City School District. She was assigned to work in Pat Peterson’s class by the Merced City School Board of Education on May 22, 1987. She worked for the Merced City School District for 33 years. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, knitting and reading her bible. She loved to entertain her family on holidays and cook big meals.
She was a faithful member of the Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. T.C. Wynn. She was involved in many facets of the church and organizations. She served in the mission circle and on the usher board. She was a Sunday School teacher and superintendent and she was heavily involved in the women’s prison ministry. She loved talking about the Lord and loved her church family.
Viola moved her membership to the Greater New Hope Baptist Church, when her husband, Rev. Lee A Moore was called to pastor that church. Viola stayed vigilant in the lord and with her church family until her health issues cause her to relocate to Burbank, CA. She received in home care assistance from her son Earnest and O'Neil, children, family, and friends in Los Angeles, County until she peacefully went home to be with the Lord on November 7, 2018 with Norris Roland, Earnest Moore, and O'Neil Bradford by her side. Our beloved Mother Viola Moore is at rest with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Viola was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She was a
christian in harmony with her spiritual heritage. She touch each of us as if we were the only one in her
console and her faith and sense of humor and strength help her to be a life coach to everyone and anyone she met. She was a true angel.
She is preceded in death by her husband Rev. Lee A. Moore, daughter Catherine Eddings, parents Philip
and Lillie Mae Bobo, brother and sisters John Willie, Henry Strong, Herbert Bobo, Verselene Woodruff,
Clementine White, Virginia Bobo, Shirley, George, Virgie and Cleveland Roland;
She is survived by her children Lonnie (Marie) Moore, Annette (Timothy) Grimes, Earnest Moore, Eva
Moore, Clifton Moore; brothers and sisters Edward Bobo, Chanester Chevis, Dorothy Johnson, Norris
Roland and Wesley Roland, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of family and
friends. Amen.
