Yolanda Hermosillo

Yolanda Hermosillo, age 78, of Merced, California passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023. Yolanda “Yolie” Hermosillo was born in Corona, CA, to Ricardo and Amalia Granado. She was 1 of 10 children. In 1957 she moved with her family to Livingston, CA where she graduated from Livingston High School in 1963.

Yolie met the love of her life Robert “Bobby-H” Hermosillo and they were married on February 19, 1966.

They settled in Merced and were happily married for nearly 50 years. Yolie and Bobby loved dancing together, hosting parties at their home, and spending time with their family and close friends.

Yolie worked for Farmers Insurance as a Senior Commercial Rater and retired after 30 years. In her spare time, Yolie loved gardening, telling jokes, collecting antique toilets and bathtubs, cooking her specialty-GORDITAS, and taking tequila shots. She loved all things country including roosters, chickens, pigs, and outhouses.

Yolie is survived by her children Michelle (Brian) Esquivel, Bobby (Rachel) Hermosillo, Yvonne (Nathan) Downey, and Greg (Vanessa) Hermosillo. She also leaves behind her siblings Richard, Mando, and Rachel. Yolie will be greatly missed by her 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren (with 1 on the way), and 8 grand dogs.

A rosary service for Yolanda will be held Friday, May 26, 2023 at 9:30 AM at St Patrick's Catholic Church, 671 East Yosemite Avenue, Merced, CA 95340. The funeral mass will follow at 10:00 a.m.. A graveside service will occur Friday, May 26, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Winton Cemetery District, 7651 Almond Avenue, Winton, CA 95388.
