Betty Ratcliff

Betty Gene Curry Ratcliff, born September 2, 1932 in Meridian, Mississippi, left this world to be with the Lord on May 12, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a resident of Nassau Bay, Texas and passed away under the care of Regent Care Center and A-Med Hospice in League City, Texas.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents Edward Chester and Edna Earl Curry and her husband John Preston (JP) Ratcliff. She is also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Betty is survived by her daughters Jill Hammes (husband David) of Bailey, Mississippi, Pam Holmes (husband Telford) of Mobile, Alabama, and Ann Thomas (husband Paul) of Nassau Bay, Texas. She is also survived by her sisters Jane Curry McKibben of Dayton, Ohio and Ruby Curry Richardson of Selma, Alabama, as well as 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was an active member of Nassau Bay Baptist Church. She was a loving, giving and cheerful southern lady to the end. Her family and friends will dearly miss her. Visitation will be at Stephens Funeral Home in Meridian, Mississippi on Monday, May 23rd, 5-7 PM. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 24th, 12 noon. Burial will follow at Arkadelphia Baptist Church in Obadiah, Mississippi.
