A graveside service for Mr. Charles Haguewood will be Friday, April 21, 2 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery with Brother Randy Caldwell officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Haguewood, 77, of Bailey, passed away Wednesday at Rush Foundation Hospital. Mr. Charles owned and operated Haguewood Lumber Company as a logger for many years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter with a love of anything outdoors. His hobbies included being in the garden, running the bulldozer, and cheering on the Atlanta Braves. He dearly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and always made time for fishing on the Tombigbee River. His favorite pastime was being in a rocking chair on the porch of the Haguewood General Store visiting with his many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Penny Haguewood; daughters, Renee Chisolm and husband, Bryant, and Mandy Goldman; son, Chuck Haguewood and wife, Brandie; and grandchildren, Eli Goldman, Hannah Chisolm, and Chase and Lexie Haguewood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Essie and Everdeen Smith Haguewood; and brother, Ed Haguewood.
Pallbearers include Tommy Stephens, Doug Wilkerson, Mike Meyers, L.C. Hudnall, Sam Goldman, and Greg Cartmell. Honorary pallbearers include Leland White, Mike Richardson, Kenny Gressett, and Wayne Roberts.
A visitation will be held Thursday, April 20, from 5-7 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home.
