Mrs. Katie Newsome Breland

Services for Mrs. Katie Breland will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Forest Lawn Memory Garden. Mrs. Breland, 85, of Meridian, passed away Monday at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Breland enjoyed going to church and reading her bible. She was a charter member of Broadmoor Baptist Church and also traveled with the Master’s Builders.

She is survived by her children James Thompson of Meridian, MS, Cynthia Quallen and husband Jim of Martinsville, OH, Rickey Fant of Stringer, MS, Brenda Wyble and husband Patrick of Opelousas, LA, Dale Fant of Laurel, MS, and Chris Fant and wife Cathy of Washington, GA; brother J.W. (Buddy) Newsome of Meridian, MS; sister Maudie Newsome of Meridian, MS; 21 grandchildren; and 36 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Louia Breland.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home.
