
Services for Mrs. Irene Singleton will be held Friday, July 1, 2011 at 2 pm in the chapel of Barham Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Rev. Roy Dabbs and Rev. Dan Carr will officiate. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Singleton, 91, of Diamondhead, MS ( formerly of Meridian) passed away at her residence on Tuesday, June 28, 2011. She was a longtime employee at the former Gray’s Hosiery Mill as a factory worker and will be remembered for her love of gardening. She attended Faith Baptist Church in Gulfport, MS and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Meridian.
She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Shiyou and husband Rayford of Diamondhead, Charlotte Mitchell and husband Jesse of Rose Hill, MS, son, Larry Singleton of Diamondhead,
grandchildren, Phillip Mitchell and wife Erica, Darryl Mitchell and wife Sharon, Douglas Mitchell and wife Tiffany, Michael Haney and wife Glenice, Hilda O’Dell and Dana, Breanna Singleton and Aaron Singleton. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, and sisters, Jessie Byrd of Laurel, Ruby Groves of Brandon and Marie Wilder of Meridian.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Singleton, a grandchild and a great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Mitchell, Larry Singleton, Aaron Singleton, David Speed, Hubert Haney, and Adam Reed.
Visitation will be 12 pm to 2pm the day of the service.
