Roberta Jean Daniels

Services for Roberta Daniels will be held Friday, August 30, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Stephens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in House, MS. Bro. Wayne Campbell and Bro. Matt Pittman will be officiating.

Mrs. Daniels, 86, of Chunky, went to her eternal home on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at Andersons Regional Medical Center.

Before moving to Chunky, Mrs. Daniels lived in Mobile, AL, where she was a teacher for over thirty years. She retired at the age of 71. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Mimi Powell (Glenn) of Wallace, NC; her son, James Whitney Daniels II (Enos) of Mobile, AL; her daughter, Dawn Stevens (Dewayne) of Chunky, MS; her grandchildren Daniel Brown of Wallace, NC, James Whitney Daniels III of Mobile, AL, Jade Richardson (Dewayne) of Enterprise, MS, Courtney Lollar (Michael) of Mobile, AL, and Cody McClelland (Karissa) of Chunky, MS; also 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Jo Mayo (Doug), brother Paul Alawine (Margaret), and sister in law, Lois Alawine.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James Whitney Daniels, Sr, her parents Theodore and Artie Mae Alawine, and brothers Doyle and Ralph Alawine.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home.
