Morris was born in Merritt on April 27, 1944 and died in Merritt at age 75, on October 15, 2019.
Mo was raised in Rock Creek, BC and returned to Merritt in 1964. He was employed at Craigmont Mines for 14 years and then moved to Mission, BC, to run his own UAP (NAPA) store for two years. He returned back to Merritt in 1982 and was employed for 20+ years with Herb, Maureen and the guys at Merritt Automotive. Mo ended his working days at Merritt Machine for six years, retiring in 2011.
He loved "his girls", gardening, "his shop", woodworking, camping, fishing and restoring old vehicles. He could fix almost anything, and was known for his great sense of humour, teasing and practical jokes!
Morris was predeceased by his Dad Lawrence Street, his Mom Vera Remple, his brother David and sister Laureen. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years Marlene (Bauer), "his girls" Allison Street-Fortier (Alain) of Gatineau, QC and Angela Street of Calgary, AB, his brother Jim and his sister Marva, six grandchildren: Zach, Michaela, Spencer and Jane (Graham), Lucas and Sébastien (Fortier), 11 nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends and relatives.
A Celebration of Life was held on Friday November 8, at 1pm at Crossroads Community Church with Pastor Andrew McDonald. Should friends desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
