Morris William Street Tuesday, 15 Oct 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Morris William Street; husband, dad, papa, brother and uncle.

Morris was born in Merritt on April 27, 1944 and died in Merritt at age 75, on October 15, 2019.

Mo was raised in Rock Creek, BC and returned to Merritt in 1965. He was employed at Craigmont Mines for 14 years and then moved to Mission, BC, to run his own UAP (NAPA) store for two years. He returned back to Merritt in 1982 and was employed for 20 plus years with Herb, Maureen and the guys at Merritt Automotive. Mo ended his working days at Merritt Machine for six years, retiring in 2011.

He loved "his girls", gardening, "his shop", woodworking, camping, fishing and restoring old vehicles. He could fix almost anything, and was known for his great sense of humour, teasing and practical jokes! Morris was predeceased by his Dad, Lawrence Street, his Mom Vera Remple, his brother David and sister Laureen.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years Marlene (Bauer), "his girls" Allison Street-Fortier (Alain) of Gatineau, QC and Angela Street of Calgary, AB, brother Jim and sister Marva, six grandchildren, Zach, Michaela, Spencer and Jane Graham, Lucas and Sebastien Fortier, 11 nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends and relatives.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday November 8, at 1pm at Crossroads Community Church with Pastor Andrew McDonald.

There will be a tea, luncheon and memory sharing at the Lower Nicola Community Hall on Aberdeen Road in Lower Nicola. Should friends desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

I was so sorry to hear that Morris had passed away, Marlene. My sister, Janet, let me know.
I remember the Street family so well as we were all growing up in Rock Creek. It was so nice to see you and Morris at the 2018 R.C. Fair, and at the school reunion we had many years before. My thoughts are with you and your family.
