It is with heavy hearts that our family annouces the sudden passing of our mother Susan on Nov. 22, 2017. She was a true spitfire. Our mother always doing things her way, even when she left us it was on her terms, its something we are all going to miss about her. Underneath her red hair, green eyes and tiny exterior was a mother, sister and grandma. She is survived by her daughter Melissa (John, granddaughter Khloe), son David, sister Mary-Lou (Marty, neice Ashley, nephew Jeffery) as well as many other family members and friends. Mom was known in the Nicola Valley as a server for Navarino’s Steak & Pizza (that we miss terribly), she started there when she was 17, Peter took a chance and mom put in over half her life there as a server. My mom was very much a people person, she knew how to make people feel welcomed and invited, I guess that is how she made serving look easy. Our lives are not going to be same without her. At this time we would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Nicola Valley Hospital and Heath Center for their kind, compassionate care, as well as Angela Texmo from Merritt Funeral Chapel for her guidance in this difficult journey. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations be made to MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving). A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2018 in Merritt, BC
