Alexander James Kazmin

Alex was born in Lakewood, New Jersey and moved to California in 1992 where he raised his family. He moved to Largo, Florida in 2018 and eventually settled in Merritt Island.

While he led a meaningful career as a Cybersecurity Specialist for many years, that’s not who Alex really was. An adventurer by nature, an avid boater, a seasoned traveler, and a passionate explorer; in his life, and with all others’, Alex showed up with both purpose and dedication. There was never a project he could not work through, a foray too bold, or a friend whom he wouldn’t bend over backwards to step up and help. Alex generously loved others, embodying true integrity and humility.

As a proud father, his devotion to his children was paramount. He was eager to let those around him know how dearly he loved them. Alex was fearless, sacrificing any part of himself for the sake of his family. His actions reflected patience, forgiveness, and endless compassion.

Alex was quirky and confident. By mere proximity, he instilled that same assurance in others. His smile reminded everyone how bright life could truly be. Alex drew you in and made you feel without a doubt that you mattered; everything would be okay. If he knew you, you were treasured. Alex could be found laughing with old and new friends, always happiest when helping others. He was an emphatic volunteer, serving several charity events including Samaritan's Purse, Merritt Island beach clean-ups, and more. By night, he set down his current projects to observe local rocket launches or fish in his beloved ocean’s inter-coastal waters. His two cats, Sadie and Max, remain neighborhood mascots.

He was blessed with a wonderful family, a cherished community and countless friends who will all miss him desperately. Survived by his son Alexander, a US Marine posted in Fort Gordon, GA with his loving wife Elsa; his daughter Jordon with her fiancé Stephen of Merritt Island, and his mother Catherine Kazmin of Dade City, FL; as well as a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

Visitation will be held at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home, 1360 N Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL on August 11, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Funeral Mass to be held on August 14, at 11AM at Sacred Heart Church, 32145 St. Joe Rd. Dade City, Fl. 33525. Followed by a Celebration of Life at 34650 Mission Bell Lane Dade City, Fl. 33525.
